What is POM plastic material?
POM (also known as Saisteel, Trane). It is derived from the polymerization of formaldehyde and other raw materials. POM-H (polyformaldehyde homopolymer), POM-K (polyformaldehyde copolymer) is a high density, high crystallinity thermoplastic engineering plastics. It has good physical, mechanical and chemical properties, especially excellent friction resistance.
Why to add glass fiber to POM ?

What are the difference between of homopolymer POM and copolymer POM ?
We call the monomer that makes up the plastic, and synthetic polymers are made of this compound (monomer) by chemical bonds to each other to form a polymer called homopolymer; Polymers polymerized by two or more monomers are called copolymers (copolymers). Polyformaldehyde resins are polymers that are interlinked between oxylene (CH2O)n-. Because the second monomer component (copolymerization component) is added to the seized steel, it is called copolymerization formaldehyde.
Due to the difference in molecular structure, homopolymer POM has higher crystallinity, melting point and mechanical strength, but poorer thermal stability; while copolymer POM has better thermal stability and processing performance, but slightly lower mechanical strength. In terms of applications, homopolymer POM is suitable for the production of high-precision, high-strength mechanical parts, such as gears, bearings, etc.; while copolymer POM is more suitable for the production of complex shapes, high dimensional stability requirements of products, such as electronic and electrical components, automotive interior parts, etc.

Injection molding process of POM granules :
1, Drying treatment
POM water absorption is small, generally 0.2%-0.5%. Under normal circumstances, POM can be processed without drying, but the wet raw materials must be dried. Drying temperature of 80 ºC or more, time more than 2 hours, specific should be carried out according to the supplier information.
2, POM has a significant melting point, homopolymerization POM is 175 ºC, copolymerization POM is 165 ºC. Molding, barrel temperature distribution: the front section of 190 ~ 200 ºC, the middle section of 180 ~ 190 ºC, the back section of 150 ~ 180 ºC, the nozzle temperature of 170 ~ 180 ºC. For thin-walled products, the barrel temperature can be increased appropriately, but not more than 210 ºC.
3, POM hygroscopicity is small, the resin can not be dried before processing. If necessary, in 90 ~ 100 ºC, dry 2 ~ 4h.
4, POM melt viscosity is sensitive to the shear rate. Therefore, to improve the melt fluidity, can not be used alone to improve the temperature, but also to improve the injection rate and injection pressure to start. Large gate, thick-walled short flow, small area of the product, the injection pressure of 40 ~ 80MPa; general products for about 100MPa. Small gate, thin-walled long flow, large area products, injection pressure is higher, 120 ~ 140MPa.
5, the mold temperature is usually controlled at 80 ~ 100 ºC, for thin-walled long process and complex shape products, the mold temperature can be increased to 120 ºC.
