Injection molding process of POM granules :

POM (polyoxymethylene) injection molding process is a common plastics processing method, which involves heating the POM raw material to a molten state, then injecting it into the mold through an injection machine, and finally cooling and molding . The following are the key parameters and considerations for the POM injection molding process:

1. Drying treatment: POM water absorption is small, generally 0.2% -0.5%, but in general, can be processed without drying, but the wet raw materials must be dried. Drying temperature of 80 ºC or more, time 2-3 hours or more 3.
 
2. Selection of injection molding machine: There is no special requirement for the injection molding machine except for the requirement that the screw has no stagnation area, and the usual injection molding machine will do3.
3. Mold and gate design: the temperature control of ordinary molds is 80-90ºC, and the mold temperature can be increased to 120ºC for thin-walled and long-flow and complex shape products. The diameter of the runner is 3-6mm, the length of the gate is 0.5mm, the size of the gate depends on the thickness of the rubber wall, the diameter of the round gate should be at least 0.5-0.6 times of the thickness of the product; the width of the rectangular gate is usually 2 times or more than the thickness, the depth of the wall thickness is 0.6 times, the demolding slope is between 40′-130′ (or 40′-1°30′).
