POM category:
POM materials can be divided into two categories, namely copolymer and homopolymer. The following will introduce the differences in the molecular structure and performance of the two types of materials.
Copolymer: POM-Copolymer
Low crystallinity: 70%~75%, high C-C-O bond energy: 60~80kcal/mol
Low density, low melting point, good thermal stability, wide processing temperature range, about 50ºC.
Homopolymer: POM-Homopolymer
High crystallinity: 75%~85%, low C-O bond energy: 20~40kcal/mol
High density, high melting point, poor thermal stability, narrow processing temperature range, about 10ºC
POM features:
(1) POM is a crystalline plastic with good rigidity, commonly known as "Saigang".
(2) It has excellent properties such as fatigue resistance, creep resistance, wear resistance, heat resistance, impact resistance, etc., and has a low friction coefficient and good self-lubricating properties.
(3) POM is not easy to absorb moisture and has good dimensional stability in a humid environment.
