What is abs granules?

What are the benefits of adding glass fiber to ABS ?
Glass Fiber Reinforced ABS (GFR-ABS) is a composite material made by mixing, extruding and pelletizing ABS resin and glass fibers.
The performance characteristics of glass fiber reinforced ABS include: significant improvement in rigidity, heat resistance and dimensional stability; reduction of the coefficient of linear expansion and molding shrinkage by 1/2 to 1/4, and also improvement in the weather resistance of ABS, offering the possibility of outdoor use. When the glass fiber content is below 40%, its tensile strength, flexural strength, modulus of elasticity, and rigidity improve with the increase of glass fiber content. When the glass fiber content exceeds 40%, the above properties tend to decrease. There is a significant increase in the heat distortion temperature. The coefficient of linear expansion is significantly smaller, the molding shrinkage is significantly reduced, the dimensional stability of the product has been greatly improved.

Injection molding process of abs granules :
1. Plasticizing temperature: The plasticizing temperature range of ABS flame retardant materials is usually between 180-240°C, the specific temperature needs to be adjusted appropriately according to the complexity of the product.
2. drying treatment: due to the large hygroscopicity of ABS plastic, it must be fully dried before injection molding to reduce the impact of moisture on the material properties. Drying time is generally 2 hours, temperature control at 80-90°C.
3. Improve the fluidity: If it is necessary to improve the fluidity of ABS flame retardant materials, it can be achieved by increasing the material temperature, mold temperature or changing the water intake level.
4. Mold cleaning: When molding heat-resistant grade or flame-retardant grade ABS material, the mold should be cleaned in time to prevent the residual plastic decomposition material from causing the surface of the mold to become bright and affecting product quality.
