Definition and characteristics of PBT plastics
Poly (butyl glycol terephthalate (Polybutyleneterephthalate), hereinafter referred to as PBT, is a kind of milky white translucent to opaque crystalline thermoplastic polyester. It is known for its excellent mechanical properties, heat aging resistance, solvent resistance and electrical properties
The following are the main properties of PBT plastic:
Mechanical Properties:
High strength: PBT has high strength and fatigue resistance.
Dimensional stability: Very little change even under high temperature conditions, ensuring long-term reliability.
Heat aging resistance
The enhanced UL temperature index can reach 120~140ºC, showing good long-term outdoor aging.
Solvent resistance
It is not easy to crack under stress-free condition, suitable for a wide range of environmental conditions.
Stability to water
PBT is easy to decompose in contact with water, so special care is needed when using it in high temperature and high humidity environments.
Electrical Properties
Insulation properties: excellent, even under humid or high temperature conditions, the electrical properties remain stable.
Dielectric coefficient: 3.0-3.2, showing good electrical insulation.
Arc resistance: up to 120sf, suitable for use in the manufacture of electronic and electrical parts.
