Why to add glass fiber to pa66 plastic material?

 PA66 is one of the earliest developed, most productive and most widely used nylon series products. It has high crystallinity, excellent tensile properties, bending properties, compressive strength and other mechanical properties, as well as excellent low temperature properties and chemical properties. It is a kind of engineering plastic, widely used, stable, good mechanical properties, superior electrical insulation performance, small proportion, easy processing and forming, self-quenching, good wear resistance. Therefore, it is widely used in automotive, electronic appliances, chemistry, mechanical instrumentation, construction and other industries. However, it has high water absorption, poor acid resistance, low dry and low temperature impact strength, and easy deformation after water absorption, which affects the dimensional stability of the product. People have modified PA66 in various ways while adding Fiberglass is one of them.
After adding glass fiber, its impact force, thermal deformation, mechanical properties, molding processability and chemical resistance are enhanced. Glass fiber is an inorganic non-metallic material with excellent properties, it has the advantages of low cost, non-combustion, heat resistance, chemical resistance, high tensile strength and punching strength, small elongation at break, good thermal insulation and good insulation. It is often used as a reinforcing material for organic polymers or inorganic nonmetals and composites.
After the addition of glass fiber, the most important effect on the material is the mechanical properties. The mechanical properties of modified PA66 are also related to the glass fiber content. The tensile strength, flexural strength and impact strength of PA66 increased with the increase of glass fiber content. The tensile strength and bending strength of the system increase linearly, but the glass fiber content reaches 30%.
The upward trend of tensile strength and bending strength is slowed down. It shows that adding glass fiber can form an effective interface layer, which can effectively transfer stress between the substrate and the interface, and thus enhance the strength of the matrix.

Injection molding process of PA66 +  glass fiber compound  :

1. First, the raw materials should be dried. Generally, PA66 and fiberglass should be baked at 120 degrees for 4 hours. If it breaks, the drying time should be extended.
2. In this process, it is necessary to increase the mold temperature (up to 120 degrees), increase the material temperature (up to 300 degrees), increase the injection pressure and speed, and increase the pressure.

Process:
1. Appropriately increase the shear force of the screw;
2, improve the injection speed, screw speed can be adjusted to 70%-90%;
3. Increase injection pressure;
4, the whole screw retracted 1-2MM to prevent the door from floating;
5. Apply gradient injection molding to complex parts.
