What is TPU( thermoplastic polyurethane) granules ?
TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) is a material with a wide hardness range, wear resistance, oil resistance, transparency and good elasticity. TPU adhesives can be divided into different grades according to their performance and application areas.

 

What is the Physical properties of adhesive tpu ?

Wear resistance: TPU plastic raw materials have more than five times the performance of natural rubber, and have good abrasion resistance. They are suitable for scenes that are often subjected to mechanical effects such as friction, scraping, and grinding.

Good tensile properties: The tensile strength is as high as 70MPa, and the elongation at break can be as high as 1000%.

Strong tear resistance: Generally speaking, TPU has a high tear resistance, and its tear strength is superior to some commonly used rubber and plastics.

Good flexural resistance: Many plastic materials are prone to breakage under repeated cyclic stress, and TPU products can maintain good flexural resistance in different environments.

What are the Chemical properties of adhesive tpu ?
High temperature resistance and oxidation resistance: General plastic raw materials are prone to oxidation in an environment above 70°C for a long time. TPU has good oxidation resistance and temperature resistance can reach 120°C.

Oil resistance and chemical resistance: TPU is a highly polar polymer material with little affinity for non-polar mineral oils. It is almost not corroded in fuel oils (such as kerosene and gasoline) and mechanical oils (such as hydraulic oil, engine oil, lubricating oil, etc.). Among them, polyester series products have better oil resistance. However, if there is a small amount of water in mineral oil, it will have different degrees of influence on the physical properties of the film.

Good low temperature performance: TPU has very good low temperature resistance, usually up to -50ºC, and can replace various fields where general PVC cannot be used due to low temperature embrittlement. It is particularly suitable for use in cold-zone related products.

Biocompatibility: TPU has good biocompatibility, no local irritation, no pyrogen, so it can be used in medical, health and other related products as well as sports and protective equipment.
